Random number generator 1-10 for games and scores

The random number generator 1-10 spins a wheel of ten equal slices and lands on one number. Ten is the classic range for party games, “rate it out of ten” questions, and classroom picks. It works in any browser, costs nothing, and does not need an account.

“Pick a number 1-10” is one of the oldest game prompts there is. The wheel answers it fairly in a few seconds.

How to use it in a game

    1. Explain the rule before the spin. For example: the wheel picks a score out of ten, and whoever guessed closest wins.
    2. Start the wheel with Spin, a click on it, or Ctrl + Enter.
    3. Read the number from the result box.
    4. Choose Spin again for the next round. The Results tab counts every number that has landed.

    Options worth turning on

Mystery wheel. Hides the numbers on the slices, so players cannot follow the pointer and guess early. The number still shows in the result box.

Numbers to skip. Skip 1 and 10 for a middle score only, or skip a number a player has already claimed.

No repeats. Ten students, ten questions, ten turns: each number is drawn once until you put them back.

Spin time. In the Settings tab, set anywhere from 1 to 30 seconds. Longer spins build suspense in front of a class.

    Ideas for a 1 to 10 spin

    • Guessing game. Closest guess to the spin wins a point.
    • Random rating. Spin a score for a silly item and make the group defend it.
    • Classroom picks. Ten table groups or ten numbered students.
    • Reps and laps. The wheel says how many push-ups or laps come next.
    • Reading pick. Choose one of ten books on a shelf or ten chapters to review.

How fair is a 1 to 10 spin?

Each number has a 10 percent chance on every spin. The pick comes from your browser’s cryptographic random generator and is made before the wheel starts to turn. Hot and cold streaks are part of normal randomness, not a sign that the wheel favors anything.

Prefer to roll? The dice roller has a ten sided die. For any other range, set your own minimum and maximum on the main random number generator.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I play guess the number with this?

Have everyone write down a number from 1 to 10, then spin. The closest guess wins the round, and the Results tab keeps track of the numbers across rounds.

What is the chance of each number from 1 to 10?

Each one has a 1 in 10 chance, exactly 10 percent, on every spin.

Can I hide the numbers while the wheel spins?

Yes. Turn on Mystery wheel in the Settings tab. The labels on the slices are hidden, and the result box still shows the number at the end.

Can I leave out 1 and 10 so the result is never extreme?

Yes. Type 1, 10 in the Numbers to skip box. The wheel then picks from 2 to 9, and each of those has a 1 in 8 chance.

Is the same number twice in a row a glitch?

No. With No repeats off, every spin is independent, so a repeat comes up about one time in ten. Turn on No repeats if you need ten different numbers.
