A would you rather questions deck for any group

This page deals out would you rather questions one card at a time, picked at random from a deck of 258. Every card gives you two choices and asks you to commit to one. The deck mixes light questions for kids, school and social picks for teens, grown up dilemmas about work and money, date night picks for couples, silly ones and thoughtful ones. You choose which of those groups to include.

A few cards from the deck:

    • “Would you rather be able to fly or be invisible?”
    • “Would you rather work four long days a week or five short days?”
    • “Would you rather be remembered for your kindness or for your achievements?”

    How to play

    1. Leave every chip on, or uncheck the groups that do not suit the room.
    2. Read the card out loud. Everyone picks an answer.
    3. Press Next for a new card. The space bar or the right arrow key does the same.
    4. Press Previous (or the left arrow) to go back to a card you skipped past.
    5. Press Start over to reshuffle and clear the list.

The “Seen so far” list beside the card keeps every question from this session, so you can scroll back and find the one that started the long argument. The copy button puts the current question on your clipboard.

Choosing your mix with the chips

The six chips are Kids, Teens, Adults, Couples, Funny and Deep. Many cards carry two tags, so a question can belong to more than one group. The counter under the card shows how many questions are left in your current mix.

    Some mixes that work well:

    • Family gathering: Kids and Funny only. Grandparents and seven year olds can both answer.
    • Friends at dinner: Adults, Funny and Deep.
    • Two people: Couples and Deep.

If a single group is all you need, each one also has its own page. Try the would you rather questions for kids or the deep would you rather questions.

    Ways to use it

    Waiting rooms and lines

Nobody needs paper or a board. Pull up the page on a phone and pass it around.

    Classroom openers

Ask the question, then have students stand on the left side of the room for the first choice and the right side for the second. Call on one person from each side to explain their pick.

    Video calls

Share your screen and let everyone answer in the chat. It takes a couple of minutes and gets cameras on.

    Road trips

The passenger reads, everyone answers, and the driver gets the final word on ties.

    Is it random?

Yes. The deck is shuffled with your browser’s cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues), and every question in your current mix has the same chance of coming up next. It all runs in your browser, it is free and you do not need an account.

For quick two word picks instead of full sentences, try the this or that questions. If your group wants a little more risk, the truth or dare questions wheel is next door.

    Examples from this deck

    • Would you rather redo middle school or skip straight to graduation?
    • Would you rather always have a song stuck in your head or never hear music again?

    Frequently asked questions

How many would you rather questions are in this deck?

There are 258 questions. Each one carries one or more tags: Kids, Teens, Adults, Couples, Funny or Deep, and you can turn those groups on or off with the chips next to the card.

How do the filter chips work together?

A question stays in the deck if any of its tags is still checked. A card tagged both Kids and Funny stays when you uncheck Kids but keep Funny on. If you uncheck every chip, the deck is empty until you turn one back on.

Will I see the same question twice?

Not in the same round. The filtered deck is shuffled once and dealt card by card. When you reach the end, it reshuffles and a note under the card tells you so.

Are any of the questions inappropriate?

No. Every question in the deck is clean. The Adults and Couples sets cover grown up topics like jobs, money, home life and date nights, and nothing in them is crude.

Does the page remember my filters?

Yes. The chips you leave checked are saved in your browser's local storage, so the same mix is waiting the next time you open the page on that device.

Can I add my own would you rather questions?

Not to this deck. If you want to play with your own list, type your questions into the picker wheel on the homepage, one per line, and spin it.
