This or that questions for adults
Small choices tell you a lot about a person, like how they travel, how they run a kitchen and when they pay their bills. These this or that questions for adults are about the everyday decisions of grown up life: home, food, money, travel and routines. The page has 44 of them and shows one at random each time you press Next.
Three from the deck:
- “Rent or buy?”
- “Window seat or aisle seat?”
- “Minimalist home or cozy clutter?”
How to use it
- Open the page on a phone or laptop.
- Read the pair to the group.
- Everyone answers. Ask one person to explain theirs.
- Press Next, the space bar or the right arrow for another card.
Press Previous to go back one card. The “Seen so far” list shows what you have already covered, and Start over reshuffles.
Ways to play
Majority rules
Before each card, everyone guesses which answer will win the room. Score a point for each correct guess. Play to ten.
Group chat poll
Copy a card and drop it into your group chat. Ask for replies, then post the final count. One question a day keeps a chat alive without any effort.
Dinner party round
Go around the table. Each guest reads a card and the table votes by raising hands. The person whose pick loses the vote reads next.
Explain in one sentence
Quick answers are fine, but pick one card per round where everyone has to give a reason. That is usually where the good stories come from.
Where it works
- Dinner parties while the food is in the oven.
- Group chats that need a new topic.
- Coworker lunches, where you want light questions that are not about work.
- Housewarming parties, since many cards are about homes and routines.
- Book clubs and game nights as a warm up.
Why small picks work so well
Big questions can stall a room. Small ones get everyone answering, because nobody needs to think hard or worry about saying the wrong thing. A card about the kitchen or a morning routine sounds trivial, but it often leads to a story about a first apartment, a roommate or a family habit. Let those side conversations run. When they fade, press Next.
A quick note on mixed company: every card here is safe for in-laws, neighbors and coworkers, so you do not need to screen the deck before a party.
Random order
Cards are shuffled with your browser’s cryptographic random generator. Every question in the set comes up once before any repeat, then the deck reshuffles on its own.
