A prize wheel for booths, classrooms and streams

Spinning for a prize is more fun than drawing a slip from a bowl, because everyone gets to watch. This prize wheel comes with eight sample prizes, from a sticker to a grand prize, and you can swap in your own in seconds. Make the big prizes rare, add photos, and spin it full screen at a booth or on a stream. It is free and there is no account.

How to run the prize wheel

    1. Open the Entries tab and type your prizes, one per line. Or tap a quick list.
    2. Set the odds with “Weights, labels and colors” if some prizes should be rarer.
    3. Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl + Enter.
    4. The dialog shows “You won” and the prize. Press Done, Remove it, or Spin again.

    Setting the odds

Every slice has the same chance until you change a weight. Weights start at 1 and can go as low as 0.1.

Here is the default wheel with one change: the grand prize set to 0.2 and the other seven prizes left at 1. The total weight is 7.2, so the grand prize has a 0.2 in 7.2 chance on each spin, about 1 in 36. Each of the other prizes has a 1 in 7.2 chance, close to 1 in 7.

The slice width always matches the weight. A rare prize looks rare, so players can see the odds instead of guessing.

    Try again slices

The sample wheel and the Store promo list include “Try again” slices. Type “Try again” on more lines to make wins less frequent, or give one Try again slice a higher weight.

    Make it look the part

    • Colors. In “Weights, labels and colors”, give each prize its own slice color, such as gold for the top prize. Settings also has color themes and a custom palette.
    • Images. Upload prize photos with “Add images” so people see what they could win.
    • Title. Add a title like “Spring Fair Spin” in Settings. It shows above the wheel and on each result.
    • Mystery mode. Hide every label for a blind spin.

Where a prize wheel works well

    Trade show and fair booths

Put the wheel on a tablet or laptop in full screen. Visitors tap the wheel to spin. Turn the spin time up to 8 or 10 seconds to build a crowd.

    Classroom rewards

Load the Classroom quick list: Homework pass, Sit anywhere, Sticker, Pick the game, Extra recess, Class DJ, Try again and Treasure box. Students who earn a spin take a turn at the front.

    Store promotions

The Store promo list has 5%, 10% and 15% off, Free gift, Free shipping, Bonus points and two Try again slices. Edit it to match the offers you actually have.

    Stream giveaways

Viewers who win a raffle spin to see which prize they get. Mystery mode keeps chat guessing.

    Fair spins

The winning slice is chosen with the browser’s cryptographic random generator before the wheel moves, weighted by the numbers you set. Click timing does not change anything. The Results tab counts every prize given out, so you can check stock at the end of the day and copy the list.

To draw a winner from a list of entrants first, use the raffle generator. For a simple draw by number, try the random number generator.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I make the grand prize harder to win?

Press 'Weights, labels and colors' and lower the grand prize weight, for example to 0.2 while the other prizes stay at 1. Its slice shrinks and it comes up far less often. On the default eight prize wheel that works out to about 1 in 36 spins.

Can I put pictures of the prizes on the wheel?

Yes. Press 'Add images' and upload photos. Each photo becomes a slice named after the file, and you can rename it in the list. Images are saved in your browser but are not included in share links.

What happens when a prize runs out?

Press 'Remove it' in the result dialog and that prize leaves the wheel. Press the Restore button later to bring removed prizes back.

Are there ready made prize lists?

Yes. The Quick lists in the Entries tab include a Classroom set, such as Homework pass and Class DJ, and a Store promo set with discounts, free shipping and Try again slices.

Can the audience see which prize is coming?

Only if you want them to. Turn on 'Mystery wheel (hide labels)' in Settings and every slice shows a question mark until the result appears.

Can I use the prize wheel on a big screen?

Yes. The full screen button under the wheel hides the rest of the page. Spin time, sound and confetti are in the Settings tab.
