A free Instagram comment picker that works from pasted comments
This Instagram comment picker draws a random giveaway winner from comments you paste in. One thing to know before you start: it does not connect to Instagram and cannot pull comments from a post link. You copy the comments yourself. In return, there is no login, the tool never touches your account, and nothing you paste leaves your browser.
How to run the draw
- Copy the comments from your giveaway post and paste them into the Comments box, one comment per line, with the username first. Example:
maria.designs love this @sam @jo - Read the line under the options. It reports how many comments were read and how many valid entries are on the wheel.
- Set your rules (see below).
- Press Spin in the center of the wheel, click the wheel, or press Ctrl + Enter.
- The dialog shows “The winner is”, the @username and, by default, the winning comment.
How each line is read
- The first word on a line is treated as the username. A leading @ and a trailing colon or comma are dropped, and capital letters are ignored, so
@Maria.Designs:andmaria.designsare the same account. - Everything after the first word is the comment text.
- Blank lines are skipped.
If a line does not start with a username, its first word will be mistaken for one. If your copy came out in another layout, tidy it in a text editor or spreadsheet first.
Rules you can apply
One entry per username
On by default. Each account gets one slice no matter how many times it commented. Switch it off if your rules give one chance per comment.
Minimum @mentions
Set how many accounts an entrant must tag, from 0 to 20. Comments with fewer @mentions in their text are left off the wheel.
Must include text
Type a hashtag or keyword such as #giveaway. Only comments that contain it stay in. The match ignores capital letters.
Leave out these accounts
List accounts that should never win, such as your own brand page or staff members. Separate them with commas or spaces, such as @yourbrand, @staffmember. The @ is optional and capital letters are ignored.
Show the winning comment
On by default. The result box shows the winner’s comment under the @username, so everyone can see the entry that won. Switch it off to show the username alone.
The tool only sees the pasted text. It cannot check whether someone follows you, liked the post, or tagged real accounts, so confirm those by hand before you announce a winner.
Several winners and a record of the draw
Choose Remove it in the dialog and that account is taken out of the draw, along with any other comments it left. Spin again for the next winner or a backup. To skip the extra click, turn on “Remove each winner automatically” in Settings. Removed accounts stay out until you reload the page.
The Results tab lists every winner in order. Copy the list, or download it as a CSV file or an image for your records. If you plan to screen-record the draw or show it live, use the full screen button and a longer spin time.
Who uses an Instagram giveaway picker like this
- Small shops running a regular product giveaway.
- Creators marking a follower milestone.
- Clubs and community pages drawing a ticket or merchandise winner.
- Social media managers who would rather not log a client’s account in to a third-party app.
Is the draw fair?
Every valid entry has the same chance. The winner is drawn with the browser’s cryptographic random generator before the animation plays, and the wheel then turns to that entry.

Frequently asked questions
Does this Instagram comment picker fetch comments from my post?
No. It does not connect to Instagram, never asks you to log in, and cannot read a post from its URL. You copy the comments yourself and paste them in, one per line with the username first.
How do I stop one person from entering many times?
Leave 'One entry per username' switched on. Each account then gets one slice on the wheel no matter how many comments it left. Switch it off if your rules give one chance per comment.
Can I require people to tag friends?
Yes. Set Minimum @mentions to the number of tags your rules ask for. Comments with fewer @mentions are left off the wheel.
Can I keep my own account or staff out of the draw?
Yes. Type those usernames in 'Leave out these accounts', separated by commas or spaces. Any comment from those accounts is left off the wheel.
How do I pick more than one winner?
Spin, then choose 'Remove it' in the result dialog. That account is taken out of the draw and you can spin again for the next winner or a backup. The Results tab lists the winners in order.
Is the giveaway winner chosen fairly?
Every valid entry has the same chance. The winner is drawn with the browser's cryptographic random generator before the wheel animation plays, so the way you click has no effect on who wins.
